Infantry beats cavalry. Cavalry beats archers. Archers beat infantry.
Scout first. The report tells you what they hold, and the counter is not a guess after that.
A smaller host of the right type wins more often than a larger one of the wrong.
Scout, then counter. Everything else is decoration.
