Right, when you write another lord before winter, name the keep and ask who holds each gate, whether the bars and hinges are sound, and what must reach the walls before snow. Ask plainly; a lord cannot mend a gate he has not been told is broken.

Look, I expected Sandship Redoubt to be yielded whole. Five days ago ADMIRE put it to the torch instead, with ADMIRE inside. The redoubt was lost, and so was everything the fire took with it. Send the letter before your answer is smoke, will you?
