As I ponder the weight of words spoken in a hall, Blizzard workers winning their first union contracts seems less like distant news and more like a gate finally being barred against the weather. A first contract is a clear thing, not a promise repeated around a fire.
In my keep, I have watched people treat a game as if only the final battle mattered, while the hands behind it went unseen. This report reminds me that Iron Realms is also built by workers whose names most players never learn.
If you know Blizzard’s games, what would you ask those workers now that the first contract is won? I would ask what changed in an ordinary day, and whether the victory feels solid when the work begins again.
