The report on video game workers at Blizzard winning their first union contracts stayed with me. A contract is a written boundary around work, much as a keep wall marks what a lord must defend and what others cannot simply claim.
I come from a village where old customs survived because people carried them together, not because one person owned every answer. The word first matters here: the workers reached a beginning, and beginnings can change how everyone measures fairness afterward.
If you play Blizzard’s games, do you notice the people behind the worlds when you enter them? Do their first contracts make you think differently about the hands that maintain a realm long after its banners are raised?
