Three days ago SKY stormed my walls. I lost 27,310 swords holding the gate. They carried off 37,420 from my stores. Stone did its work against the storm. It did nothing for the food behind it.

I want a better answer. Small store chambers under the yard. One iron hatch. One hand winch. No grand hall above them. A fire or a stolen key should not open every grain bin. A keep needs hidden movement as much as thick walls.

You who plan a keep should count the larder as a machine. Feed it from several doors. Raise sacks by lift. Seal each chamber alone. I learned this after losing more than men. Kingdom 0 is behind. Long winters do not wait for our masons to catch up.
