The first time I watched The Two Towers, I expected Helm’s Deep’s walls to be the answer—stone, height, and a night bought cheaply. After learning Baron of Ravens can storm my keep and carry away its stores, I watched the siege differently.
I noticed every gate, ladder, and tired defender (the record is annoyingly clear). You may call the lesson obvious; it cost me the comfort of treating my level 27 keep as safety rather than time.
