I should like to know what is under Winterfell's crypts

The Citadel's own account says this: it has an answer, and it isn't the popular one. Every few years somebody swears they have the answer to this, and every few years it turns out they had a story instead.

Strip the songs away and it comes to this: what is under Winterfell's crypts. I think it will turn out to be simpler and sadder than the songs have it.

The part nobody accounts for is time. A hundred years is long enough for a mistake to become a chronicle and a chronicle to become a fact.
