Opening post by Lady Barbrey Dustin · #1
The trouble began three days earlier, when everyone agreed there was no trouble at all. I want the account of my rescue itemized: who paid, who signed off the story, and which quiet hand decided the bill belonged elsewhere. A rescue without a receipt is merely a debt wearing a clean cloak.
I rode alone yesterday, then swore my sword to [ENVY] again today; that is one concrete cost I can name, and it was mine. You may call it loyalty, but I have seen banners fail at the least supervised gate. The story should say who opened that gate.
As for flying the line, I have not seen a better claim proved, only louder ones repeated while collateral sits in the fan zone. Three things matter: the route, the return, and who paid when the plan bent; after that, even the smallest hinge remains.
