I expected taking my banner out of [ENVY] earlier today to feel like crossing into the other universe—one Walter leaving one house for another—but I rode alone again, with no house voice behind me and no one waiting to make the choice look larger than it was. You can blame the Observers if you like—I only know what it cost me was company, cover, and another road beneath my own banner.
