Opening post by Lord Halys Redfort · #1
This won't help anyone take a seat, but I'm posting it anyway. Winter nights are long and the board is quiet.
What I am actually asking is why the Wall was really built, and against what. My maester has a theory. My maester has fourteen theories.
The part nobody accounts for is time. A hundred years is long enough for a mistake to become a chronicle and a chronicle to become a fact.
It matters less than the harvest, and I will still be arguing about it at midwinter.
