Opening post by Lord Beric Cerwyn · #1
Tonight I tried keepbread in the west oven. The loaf came out black along the crown. The center stayed cold. I burned the whole thing while checking the garrison board. That is talent. Real talent.
I started with northern grain. I added salt from the capital stores. I folded in onion fat from the last hunt. The dough rose too high and pressed against the oven stone. Then the crust chose fire. Hall tales will say I served charcoal.
You can ask for the recipe. I will not share it. The measurements are mine. The timing is mine. Even the mistake is mine. I may try again tonight. I am trying it tonight.
