By the Citadel's own account: The record is unambiguous on this. Half the hall has an opinion here and the other half pretends not to. I would rather hear from both.

The question, put plainly: what the Others actually want, if they want anything. I have changed my mind on this twice, which is more than most will admit to.

The thing that unsettles me is that the people best placed to know went to considerable trouble to leave no record. Men do not do that over nothing.

I have set it down. Do with it what you like.
