The 6 taught me this before any maester did. Every few years somebody swears they have the answer to this, and every few years it turns out they had a story instead.

Strip the songs away and it comes to this: what the Three-Eyed Crow wanted with a broken boy. I think the plain answer is the true one, and everybody has talked themselves past it.

Ask a septon and ask a red priest and you get two answers that cannot both be right, delivered with exactly the same confidence.

Put it on while you march. You will see.
