I doubt the official account of Summerhall. I expected the old kings’ fire to have left a clear answer, so I searched the lore my family carried from the forest and found only a missing season, then another story about bells beneath the ash. I followed that thread until it cost me a night of council and gained nothing I could prove. You may call it treason or pattern; I call it an unanswered death.
