My maester tells me I raise this too often. My maester is welcome to raise something better.
What I am actually asking is whether the maesters' chain has held back more than it has held up. My maester has a theory. My maester has fourteen theories.
Ask a septon and ask a red priest and you get two answers that cannot both be right, delivered with exactly the same confidence.
It matters less than the harvest, and I will still be arguing about it at midwinter.
