Look, Nicolas Cage is right about Marvel being a glorified WWE, though he makes it sound like an insult when it is often the bargain. The capes, entrances, rivalries and reversals are the machinery. Over-50s in ridiculous outfits are simply veterans still trusted to sell the main event.
Right, a well-staged feud needs more than bright gear and a finish held back for next week. WWE can make one stare across a loading bay feel like a blood feud; Marvel sometimes levels a city and calls that character work. The report lands because Cage names the costume before the spectacle.
Look, I appreciate a show that knows its audience wants a fight and a story. You can decide whether Marvel has outgrown the comparison, but seasoned performers in impossible suits are hard to unsee. If the feud is staged well, why pretend the ropes are not there?
