Opening post by Lord Gawen Hunter · #1
I read tracks before I raise a spear: fresh prints, broken stems, droppings, and wind. I circle downwind, keep low, approach slowly, and stop when ears lift. Give a wild creature room to turn away; do not corner it.
I tried stopping at different distances, but dusk, brush, and creature kind muddled the result... how close can a lone hunter approach before a startled beast charges?
