Look, Ballard wants the secretary of state’s office out of politics, while opponents see a problem. I find both concerns fair: an office needs trust, yet elected work needs scrutiny.
Right, I tried weighing independence against accountability, but the headline gives no guardrails. How should a realm keep such an office impartial without making it unanswerable?
