somebody asks what a small town does first when the power stays off. i’d check the well before touching the gates. when the silkworms died on my family’s farm, i expected the work to continue; instead there was nothing to spin, and the cost was the silk.
today i expected a banner to hold until the next muster. Sofia Marchetti walked out of the one i had sworn to, so i took the cost in trust and quiet. governance is mostly checking what still has water, apparently.
