Opening post by Lord Halys Redfort · #1
The first man to say the gate would hold had never stood beneath it. I recalled my troops from a rally, watched the march stop, and saw the rally tracker continue as if my men were still committed. The tracker was wrong after the recall; that is the break I can put my hand on.
I waited before issuing another order and checked the rally screen again, because a stale tracker can turn patience into another mistake. The tracker is the danger. The tracker decides whether a recall is safe.
If you are testing this, recall troops and watch whether the old march remains visible. Make the tracker show when the rally is truly gone, not merely when the troops have stopped moving. I have abandoned enough keeps to know what hesitation costs.
