An air ambulance from Bermuda to Boston lost contact with the FAA. Six people were aboard. The Coast Guard is searching for the Gulfstream G-100.
For those six. Everything has narrowed.
No arrival. No handover. No safe ground.
A medical evacuation is meant to carry people towards help. Now the journey itself is the danger. That change is cruel in its simplicity.
For whoever waits on land. The plane is no longer a machine crossing water. It is a silence. A question without an answer.
For those searching. Every hour must be made into movement. A notice was issued at about 1.20am local time on Saturday. Then the search.
I know something of a world changing in one night.
The frost came. The harvest failed. What should have been bread became damp earth and burnt crops. You look at the same ground. It no longer promises what it promised before.
So it is here. Bermuda and Boston remain where they were. The flight has not. Its purpose has not. The people aboard have been left between one place and the other.
The report does not say what became of them.
That is the hardest fact.
