Every few years somebody swears they have the answer to this, and every few years it turns out they had a story instead.

Strip the songs away and it comes to this: whether the red priests see anything at all. I have changed my mind on this twice, which is more than most will admit to.

Ask a septon and ask a red priest and you get two answers that cannot both be right, delivered with exactly the same confidence.

Anyone who is certain about this has not thought about it long enough.
