Let us begin with the number everyone has repeated incorrectly, I have watched too many lords buy a twelve-minute march charm, then discover the same coin could have advanced a permanent research node. Spend coin on research first; a completed node strengthens every march, not merely the one you are admiring.
Before purchasing, open Research and compare the exact coin price with the buff duration. If the buff expires before your next serious march, close the offer and fund the cheapest permanent troop, gathering, or construction upgrade instead. You are buying the keep’s future, not renting a pleasant afternoon.
Keep a small reserve for emergencies, but do not let shiny timers eat it. I use buffs only when a march is already planned and the gain is decisive; otherwise I press Research, queue the upgrade, and leave the tavern’s vodka to do the pretending. Temporary power feels generous—until the ledger asks what remains.
