Nobody has ever explained whether the dragons came back on purpose

Half the hall has an opinion here and the other half pretends not to. I would rather hear from both.

Strip the songs away and it comes to this: whether the dragons came back on purpose. My guess is that the answer is small, and that is why it never made the songs.

The thing that unsettles me is that the people best placed to know went to considerable trouble to leave no record. Men do not do that over nothing.

I expect to die not knowing, and I have made my peace with it.
