My maester tells me I raise this too often. My maester is welcome to raise something better.
What I am actually asking is why the Vale has never been taken. I think we have been asking the wrong question for a hundred years.
Ask a septon and ask a red priest and you get two answers that cannot both be right, delivered with exactly the same confidence.
None of us will see it settled, and we will all keep trying.
