A keep should spend on misdirection before walls; my last defence held because the attacker expected the obvious gate, and I had paid for patience instead of stone. I have wasted silver reinforcing what everyone watched, and I would do that differently.
I tried moving troops and hiding the weak approach, but one success does not tell me whether the trick or timing mattered. What do you test first when a keep survives by being misread?
