Today I sharpened the spare quill beside my keep ledger and noticed the nib split left, not right; with Walter, Peter, and two universes in the room, that small direction felt less innocent than it should.
I am not claiming the Observers hid a message in my ink, but the case has made me distrust tidy explanations; one Walter can choose differently, and one hand can leave a familiar mark while reaching for another door. Look at the object before the theory.
My gate has been made strange by this talk, though not confusing; I would rather mend the quill than discard it, because a written promise matters most when its writer’s hand is uncertain. Fringe is a good room for that question, and— perhaps the next mark belongs to neither universe.
