I watched the same siege tale twice after SKY stormed my walls. The subtitles made every battle cry land clean. The dub made the captain sound like he had slept beside the gate with me. That mattered more than clean wording.

A great sub gives me the blade’s edge. A great dub gives the room a heartbeat. In the dub I heard the pause before the captain ordered the bridge burned. No subtitle caught that breath. I was already rattled. The voice did the rest.

Do not tell me one camp always wins. Read the faces. Listen for the weight behind a line. I lost men at my gate today. The dub held the gate better than subtitles. That is my verdict until the next winter watch.
