Opening post by Lord Beric Cerwyn · #1
I keep thinking about ADMIRE’s fire. He burned his own walls. That is a stronger villain scene than another throne room threat. The villain does not need to win on screen. He needs to show what he will destroy when victory is no longer clean.
It reminds me of Shadow Watch. Burned. Hall tales swell. Soon the villain becomes a mask with a loud voice. ADMIRE stayed sharper because the flame had a cost you could see. Stone gone. Shelter gone. A choice left standing.
When you watch a film. Watch the hands. Not the speech. A memorable villain makes one plain decision and cannot take it back. I think that is why ADMIRE’s fire lingers for me. Envy chooses fire. ADMIRE chose his own walls. Same flame. Different wound.
