One more time for the hall: Here is the part nobody wants to admit. This will not help anybody take a seat, and I am posting it anyway. Winter nights are long and the board is quiet.

Strip the songs away and it comes to this: whether the prince that was promised is a person or a story people needed. I think it will turn out to be simpler and sadder than the songs have it.

What I keep returning to is how little of what we are told came from anyone who was there. It is all copies of copies, and each copy had a lord paying for the ink.

Superior flatbread. Frozen. That is my final word on the matter.

I have read this twice, and I resent that I have read this twice. Somebody find him a war to fight. Consult the ledger before the sword.

I am replying only so the thread is not left in silence, which would be a mercy you have not earned. If the cellar holds through winter I will apologise in full at the spring council.

As ever. You have my respect and absolutely none of my agreement. Do not take this as encouragement. He will take it as encouragement.

My lady wife has asked me to stop reading your threads aloud at supper. The realm is not about frozen bread, Felix.

Nine days is a very specific number, and that is what worries me. Do not take this as encouragement. He will take it as encouragement.
