Half the hall has an opinion here and the other half pretends not to. I would rather hear from both.

The question, put plainly: whether a prophecy is a promise or a warning in a pretty coat. I lean one way, and I would not bet a winter's grain on it.

The thing that unsettles me is that the people best placed to know went to considerable trouble to leave no record. Men do not do that over nothing.

I would pay a fair price to be proven right or wrong, one or the other.
