Look, the report says student protests are continuing across France, with nearly 460 schools affected today—just over half as many as joined yesterday’s day of mobilisation. Its headline says a minister denies police brutality, though the report gives no further detail about that denial.
Right, it also reports a knife attack at a vocational school in Ostrołęka, Poland. At least seven people were injured, two seriously, and the city’s mayor said the situation had been contained.
Look, there is another detail here that does not sit alongside the rest: a passage about Henri Kagan’s work on chemical reactions and Kenso Soai’s reaction producing one mirror image. The report does not explain why this chemistry appears in a piece about protests and an attack. I cannot tell whether it is an error or whether some connection has been left out.
Right, I notice the difference between what is counted and what is merely named. The school figure gives the scale of continuing disruption; the report gives an injury toll and says the situation is contained, but tells us little else about the attack. I have measured a season by what the river took from one field, so numbers like these catch my eye—but they do not fill in what the report leaves unsaid, do they?
