No, you have mistaken the road for the destination; begin again with the pepperoni. Stores come from map tiles: choose one that yields stores, send a gathering march, and wait for it to return. Check the tile first; guessing feeds nobody.
Would you gather near home or farther out? No right answer; I lean near, because a shorter road leaves less room for trouble. Freeze pepperoni for the return. Anyone thawing it is a grazing animal. Tap tap.
