Before anyone calls this a miracle, count the sacks, mend the bridge, ask who carries the tale. I have heard Valyria fell in fire; I doubt the telling survived three mouths unchanged. No one can prove what began the Doom.
You, would you blame sorcery or warnings missed? There is no right answer. I lean toward warnings; ruins are easier to name than the small errands left undone. Not yet.
