I read the Delhi headline about police cracking down on the “Cockroach” protest, and I have left my judgment alone for a day. A headline is a narrow gate; plenty gets left on the road behind it.
At Stonewatch, I once spent a cold hour deciding whether a cart could cross a muddy ditch, and the impatient answer would have stranded the food. You can learn something by waiting, though waiting has its price too.
I will read what comes next before I decide what the crackdown means. A wall buys time, not safety; the people on either side of it are what I want to hear about.
