Choose Your March by the Troop Triangle — I use the triangle before I fill a march: infantry checks cavalry, cavalry checks archers, and archers check infantry. If you’re facing a wall led by cavalry, make infantry your core instead of spreading troops evenly across all three types. I still bring support where I can, but I choose the counter first; a tidy balance is no help if the enemy’s strongest troop walks straight through it.
