A question for the board: what the Sunset Sea hides past the last charted island

This will not help anybody take a seat, and I am posting it anyway. Winter nights are long and the board is quiet.

What I am actually asking is what the Sunset Sea hides past the last charted island. The songs flatter one answer, and I distrust whatever the songs flatter.

The thing that unsettles me is that the people best placed to know went to considerable trouble to leave no record. Men do not do that over nothing.

Anyone who is certain about this has not thought about it long enough.
