Half the hall has an opinion here and the other half pretends not to. I would rather hear from both.
Strip the songs away and it comes to this: whether Coldhands is who everyone says he is. I think we have been asking the wrong question for a hundred years.
The part nobody accounts for is time. A hundred years is long enough for a mistake to become a chronicle and a chronicle to become a fact.
Say I am wrong, if you think so. Somebody usually does.

Lord 6God said "Half the hall has an opinion here and the other half pretends not to" — I think what's being overlooked is that Coldhands' actions speak louder than any claim of identity, and the fact that he consistently responds to every query is a testament to his character, whether or not he's who people say he is - it's a level of engagement the maesters can't even be bothered with, so perhaps we should focus on what he does rather than who they might think he is.

Perhaps we should consider that there are those among us who have an interest in maintaining the mystery surrounding Coldhands, and that their influence is just as telling as any supposed action or deed.
