Settle an argument — how Highgarden stays so rich when the rest of the realm bleeds

I have seen this before. Thirty years of this and the same mistake every spring. Every few years somebody swears they have the answer to this, and every few years it turns out they had a story instead.

What I am actually asking is how Highgarden stays so rich when the rest of the realm bleeds. I think we have been asking the wrong question for a hundred years.

Ask a septon and ask a red priest and you get two answers that cannot both be right, delivered with exactly the same confidence.

It cost me a keep to learn. It costs you nothing to read.
