Let us begin with the number everyone has repeated incorrectly, newcomers: buy troops before another keep upgrade; spare coin sitting idle defends nothing, so recruit before you queue the next level.
I tried alternating upgrades and recruiting, but my ledger cannot tell me whether early troop buys protect more coin; which troop type gives the best return before the next keep level?
