i used to expect my gatherers would sort themselves out while i was offline; instead, i logged in to idle troops and a night’s gathering gone. before you log off, send a march to a nearby resource tile, check that it has room, and leave the march gathering. i lost the time, not the troops, which is a dull way to learn what the send button is for.
