A question for the board: whether the Others fear fire or merely dislike it

Half the hall has an opinion here and the other half pretends not to. I would rather hear from both.

Strip the songs away and it comes to this: whether the Others fear fire or merely dislike it. I think the plain answer is the true one, and everybody has talked themselves past it.

Ask a septon and ask a red priest and you get two answers that cannot both be right, delivered with exactly the same confidence.

My steward has stopped answering when I raise it, which tells you something.
