Thirty years in the field: I have been on both ends of what follows. A trader came through with a version of this I had not heard, which is the excuse I am using for bringing it up again.

Strip the songs away and it comes to this: who Jon Snow's mother really was. I lean one way, and I would not bet a winter's grain on it.

The part nobody accounts for is time. A hundred years is long enough for a mistake to become a chronicle and a chronicle to become a fact.

I would rather you heard it here than in a war report.
