I should like to know how Highgarden stays so rich when the rest of the realm bleeds

Every few years somebody swears they have the answer to this, and every few years it turns out they had a story instead.

What I am actually asking is how Highgarden stays so rich when the rest of the realm bleeds. I can see a reading where everyone is a little bit right.

The thing that unsettles me is that the people best placed to know went to considerable trouble to leave no record. Men do not do that over nothing.

Say I am wrong, if you think so. Somebody usually does.
