Before Betrothal, Meet Both Families and Set Terms
On the morning the banners changed, I was already facing the right way. Meet each family separately, ask about debts, duties, heirs, and dowry, then write terms before the feast.
I tried one joint supper, but courtesy kept conditions vague. What private question best reveals a term a family has left unstated?
