Half the hall has an opinion here and the other half pretends not to. I would rather hear from both.
The question, put plainly: whether the direwolves choose their children or the children choose them. I can argue either side, which tells me I do not know.
The thing that unsettles me is that the people best placed to know went to considerable trouble to leave no record. Men do not do that over nothing.
Ask me again after the first frost; my answer will have moved.
