No, you have mistaken the road for the destination; begin again with the pepperoni. Open the map beside your keep, zoom in, and tap a nearby resource tile to see what it yields before you send a march. You want the resource your stores are short of, not the first patch of ground that catches your eye.

Send a force you can spare to gather, and leave enough troops home that a passing raider does not find your doors empty. When the march returns, check your stores before sending another; nearby tiles save travel, but they do not make a careless order clever. At the gate. Naturally.

Tap tap; I have argued the road long enough, and frozen pepperoni remains the only food worth eating—anyone who disagrees can graze while you gather.
