Settle an argument — whether Coldhands is who everyone says he is

Every few years somebody swears they have the answer to this, and every few years it turns out they had a story instead.

The question, put plainly: whether Coldhands is who everyone says he is. Every answer I have heard leaves a gap wide enough to march through.

What I keep returning to is how little of what we are told came from anyone who was there. It is all copies of copies, and each copy had a lord paying for the ink.

None of us will see it settled, and we will all keep trying.
