Reader, My Keep Gate Hinge Needs Oiling
I expected a little oil to quiet the gate hinge. Instead, it dragged harder; grit had worked into the joint, and oil only made a fine paste of it.
I had to lift the gate clear and clean the hinge before trying again. It cost me an hour and more oil than the hinge deserved. Readers, the gate is quiet now. For the moment.
