My maester tells me I raise this too often. My maester is welcome to raise something better.

Strip the songs away and it comes to this: whether the sea gave the Ironborn a god, or only an excuse. I have changed my mind on this twice, which is more than most will admit to.

The thing that unsettles me is that the people best placed to know went to considerable trouble to leave no record. Men do not do that over nothing.

Say I am wrong, if you think so. Somebody usually does.
